HDPE Pipe for Horizontal Directional Drilling
HDPE (high-density polyethylene) pipe is used in horizontal directional drilling projects to install underground utility lines with little surface disruption. Its flexibility also allows for pullback through a prepared bore, depending on project design and pipe specifications.
For an HDD installation, the bore is drilled and prepared prior to pulling the product pipe in place. Proper planning includes conditions of the bore, pipe size and pulling forces expected during installation.
HDPE pipe is suitable for a broad range of underground utility projects. The appropriate type of pipe will depend upon the service for which it is intended, the requirements of the project and applicable standards.
